CIA House Rec League
The Clearwater Ice Arena Rec program is run by Youth Hockey Director - Coach Lee Zerfass along with Assistant Hockey Director - Carlos Piñeros.
The spirit and philosophy of our program is to promote fun for the players to further their love for the game, skill development, teamwork, fair play, and competitive balance.
The House program has teams ranging from 6U - 16U with teams typically having 10-15 players. Age groups may be combined when numbers are low.
Ages
We have House programs from 6U - 16U when numbers allow. Age groups may be combined when numbers are low.
Practices
Practices are held at Clearwater Ice Arena (CIA) and are usually once (60 min.) a week with the possibility of occasional. These normally range from 4:30pm-8pm on Fridays with the older age groups going later. However, the practice schedule is subject to change based on the ice availability at the CIA. Practices consist of skills, drills and scrimmage games.
Games
House teams: consist of 10-15 skaters plus a goalie and are chosen by the coach according to availability and skill level after tryouts.
Jerseys
A Clearwater Ice Arena rec league jersey will be available to select for sizing during registration. Returning players drafted to their existing teams will return/remain with their existing jersey and number unless they are changing teams OR outgrown their previous size.
USA Hockey
All skaters/players and coaches must be registered with USA Hockey for the current playing year. USA Hockey registration is not refundable.
When
The fall registration covers house hockey from Mid August through Mid December.
The Winter Registration runs early Jan through mid March.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do House players get to play any games?
House rec league players have games on Saturday afternoons during each season.
Cyclones Hockey offers a Rec-Select program which provides for additional ice-time/development opportunities for players to take their game to the next level. The Rec-Select program typically plays in 4-5 tournaments throughout the year based on players selected by coaches/volunteers onto those teams. Players must be in some form of the house league + in the rec select program to be eligible for these tournaments. Players registered on travel hockey teams are ineligible to complete in tournaments.
2024 House Fall Rec League
Registration for the 2024 Fall Youth Hockey League is now open.
Tryouts for skill assessment and team selections will be held on August 23rd with first games being played on August 24th running through December 14th.
A current 2024-2025 USA Hockey Registration will be required to complete the process.
